The Housekeeping unit is responsible for the overall cleanliness of the Passaic County Jail.  In addition to all inmates being required to clean their immediate living quarters, the Housekeeping unit is comprised of Officers that supervise inmate “trustees" to maintain all other areas of the facility (and limited areas of 435 Hamburg Turnpike).  Some of their duties include scrubbing and waxing floors, painting, ensuring cleaning and toiletry supplies are delivered throughout the facility.

The Laundry and Supply area is responsible for washing all inmates clothing and linens on a scheduled basis (currently 4 times per week).
