The Passaic County Sheriff’s Office offers official County Identification Cards to residents of Passaic County through our Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI).
These IDs are commonly used for a variety of purposes, including employment, access to county services, and personal identification needs. All county-issued IDs are processed and generated by BCI staff.

Monday through Friday | 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Requirements:
To obtain a County ID, applicants must provide :
- Birth Certificate from United States, Puerto Rico (must be blue, we don't accept old), U.S. Virgin Island. or Valid Permanent Resident Card from United States.
- Original Social Security Number (no copy)
- 3 Proofs of address in the last 60 days: utility bills, bank statement, credit card statement, lease agreement, or other form of proof, but not junk mail.
- If born outside of the US please provide Citizen papers, Green Card, US Passport or Resident Card.
If an ID is needed for a minor (ages 5-17) please provide:
- Parent ID
- Proofs of address in the last 60 days: utility bills, bank statement, credit card statement, lease agreement, or other form of proof, but not junk mail.
- Original Social Security Number (no copy)
